My story

Area Q Walmer Location, home to Day-care Sinakho and Vez'ubuhle Community Project

Vez'ubuhle community Project

a beautiful place in Walmer township

Vez’ubuhle is our community project in Area Q, Walmer Township. The meaning of Vez’ubuhle (in Xhosa) is ‘show your beauty’. We believe there is a lot of beauty of people in Area Q hidden under a surface of hopelessness.

Becoming a community builder

In our community project we hope to challenge people to discover their own beauty. We also want to challenge them to use their beauty to build their community. As a community-builder a lady is teaching other ladies to make pillows; as a community-builder a man is making a netball court in the bushes; as community-builders a group of young guys have started a soccer club.

With the programmes and activities at Vez’ubuhle we want to bring positive alternatives to the activities in the township.

Our values
By opening doors for an alternative, we challenge young and old to become active community members with a life changing attitude. Were we encourage ideas and input from the community and assist them to start life changing initiatives.

‘…He gives us something we can then give away…’ (2 Corinthians 9:8, The Message)
